Design and access statement

FAO Reading Planning Department,

The proposed development is to repair the roof of 7 Eldon Square such that water ingress is no longer taking place.

This is a suitable response to the site and it's existing setting because preventing the deterioration of the building will cause it to continue to be habitable, and maintain it's ongoing presence as a dwellinghouse.

Access will be maintained to the drive of the rear of the building by erecting the scaffolding in a manner that leaves a car tunnel going underneath it.

The roof works will be commencing this week...

I have previously spoken with Chukwudi about this on the phone and I have to submit the planning permission knowing that the works are going ahead already. This is because there is no choice but to proceed to prevent water ingress to the building. The last planning application took 9 months, and we are not prepared to leave our listed building to rot through the winter while awaitng planning permission for important works.
