Dear Ralph,

Regarding the above referenced applications, the applicants are happy to remove the front porch for both properties but since the light is an issue and the applicants want to have as much natural light as they can, do you think that we can have the three Velux windows approved? I am a little bit worried for number 17 because their house is very dark on the back.

I hope you can help us with this issue and we can submit the amended drawings asap.

Thank you for all your help and assistance.

Reduce the number of velux windows as discussed and do changes to the extension at number 17 as already agreed. You can then submit amended plans and we progress the application. Hopefully you will have decided on what to do with the porch, of which I am afraid might be to omit the porch altogether.

Dear Ralph,

Thank you for your email.

I will contact the applicant. In terms of the next stages, do we need to submit amended plans? What is going to happen with the Velux windows and the extension on the side of the property (17 Alexandra Rd). Are you happy to approve those?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

The pitched dormer is the preferred option (see email below). Regarding the front porch, it is difficult to see how you can achieve your objectives of adequate light and drought proofing without harming the appearance of the dwellings and the street scene.

Hi Ralph,

I consider the proposed option of the new dormer with a pitched roof (Option B), to be the preferable option.

Regards,
