Hi Anthony

I am writing to provide further detail of the replacement material to be used in the re-cladding of the building. We are proposing to use the Anvil RFJ1 Rainscreen Cladding pre-painted aluminium with secret and recessed joint fixings. More information about this produce can be found on Taylor Maxwell’s website at the following address:

https://www.taylormaxwell.co.uk/facade-systems/anvil-metal-cladding-systems

This product has been selected to best replicate the existing material to be replaced. Additionally, and most importantly, it is classified A1 non-combustible to offer the best possible fire resistance in this regard. As a result of utilising this A1 classified cladding, there is a need to keep panel size heights to a maximum of 600mm. We have been made aware that the panels made from this material which exceed 600mm require stiffeners to be glued to the back of the panel using glue which is not fire tested. To avoid any possibility of compromising the fire rating of the cladding panel itself the proposed re-cladding design has been amended to reflect this. Please see the amended proposed elevations attached for approval which show that some oversized panels have now been split into two separate panels to ensure no panel exceeds 600mm thereby negating the need for any panel stiffeners. This way, there shall be no compromise with regard to fire resistance resulting in a fully A1 rating.

Please find the following plans attached for approval:

·         North Elevation as proposed drawing no: QW-AWW-00-ZZ-DR-A-3005 Rev B;

·         East Elevation as proposed drawing no: QW-AWW-00-ZZ-DR-A-3006 Rev B;

·         South Elevation as proposed drawing no: QW-AWW-00-ZZ-DR-A-3007 Rev B; and

·         West Elevation as proposed drawing no: QW-AWW-00-ZZ-DR-A-3008 Rev B.

It is considered that the attached proposals offer minimal deviation from those previously submitted with the application and have been informed by the goal to achieve the highest possible fire resistance rating (A1).

Kind regards

Jamie
