Subject: RE: GPV Ph4: Piling approvals Condition 48 App.Con 220022
Alison,
As have been submitted and approved, the vibro stone column ground improvement foundation solutions to the houses of Phases 1, 3a 3b & 5 all confirm the termination of the columns in the River Terrace deposits, not the Lambeth group layers.
I can confirm Phase 4 is no different in the column terminations implementing the same housing designs on this phase.
The resubmitted Rambolls report 1620000492 Green Park Village Piling Risk Assessment R002 , approved on earlier phases, confirms the same risk profile to the underlying soils to Phase 4 (Section 8 – Page 24)
Within Phase 4 the founding methodology is proposed to comprise vibro-stone columns that will terminate within the River Terrace Deposits. At this stage (the time of publication) the termination depth has not been finalised, however, this is anticipated to be at a similar depth to Phase 3 at approximately 4.0 m below land raise level ~36.2 mAOD.
I can confirm with the attached Pile Design Roger Bullivant Design Calculations GPV Ph4 MG.18.7221 (not provided prior to the determination of App.Con 180968) that they have considered the same depth allowances “the design calculations highlight that a target depth of around 3.0m will provide suitable settlement controls against the loadings detailed in section 5. Due to ground conditions and working levels anticipated, column lengths in the range of 2.5m to 3.5m will be expected” – these all are within the River Terrace Deposits following placement of approved the capping materials needed to address the flood levels.
The Foundation Risk assessment provided by Ramboll, confirms a Low Risk for contamination pathways as with other adjacent phases.
I trust this statement allows you to clear the condition.
